“The Templer Way part 3 – a loop from Stover Country Park - more industrial archaeology and natural history” – mostly easy walking

Meet: outside the Visitor Centre at Stover Country Park at 10 am
OS OL28 SX 835752; what3words ///comforted.graphics.crops.
The entrance to the Park is off the A382 Bovey Tracey to Newton Abbot road 300m south of the Drumbridges roundabout on the A38 Exeter to Plymouth Expressway. The car park charge is £4 for longer than 2 hours, so try and car share if you can.
We will walk out of the park and cross Drumbridges roundabout (there is a safe route on pavements!), and enter the Great Plantation. From there we go along country tracks and lanes to Pottery Pond where we re-join the Templer Way to pass the House of Marbles and onwards to join the Stover Multi-use Trail for easy walking through quiet countryside then on a purpose made bridge across the A38 to Teigngrace Meadow local nature reserve. Here we may take a short detour upwards for views over the clay pits and back to Dartmoor. Then it is back to Stover Park. The lake in Stover Park is known for its waterfowl.
Bring a flask for a coffee stop and a picnic lunch.
Please book with the Walk Leaders, in case we need to cancel due to bad weather etc. We may also be able to help with sorting out lifts. Any time up to 8am on the day of the walk is fine.
