Firstly THANK YOU for arriving at this page. You have clearly clicked a QR code, followed a link or disappeared down an environmental wormhole and popped up here on the OVA’S Climate Change and Environment Page.
The purpose of this page is to promote details of all the Environment Events which are happening in Budleigh Salterton and up the Otter Valley. Not just our own events but those of our environmental allies. We are stronger when we work together.
Attending events?
If you are interested attending talks or going to events, then please do click the CALENDAR to see what is coming up. If you are disappointed in the lack of local events then this entirely due to the fact that in order to run events we, and our allies, need volunteers and funding to arrange so please do get in touch. Likewise if you are part of a organisation that would like to run an environmental event then please do get in touch and we can see if we can get you some help.
Learning more about the environmental choices we can make?
Lets face it. This is a nightmare. Plastics, microplastics, phosophates, glysophates etc etc. We are bombarded with information. We will try and unravels some of these subjects and offer sound and unbiased advise. A great place to start will be with our July Environmental Special of Otter Life (blah Blah). Likewise if you are an expert in a particular environmental area and would like to share information then please do get in touch.
Volunteering?
Would you like details of opportunities to volunteer on climate change initiatives then please follow the links below.
The Next Steps
Lets face it. All the above adds up to creating a much better environment as the world about us changes. It builds resilient communities who deeply care about the area in which they live but is this enough?
Are you interested in finding out how to lobby your local council, district council, country council, MP and wider government on the issues that really matter to you such as sewage in our water, dramatic reducation in pollinatoring insects, etc etc. Would you like information about how to lobby and make your voice heard in a non party political way?
Finally, celebrating the wins.
It is not all doom and gloom. There are many people doing fabulous things for the environment in our towns and up the Otter valleys and we need to celebrate all those positive things.
