‘Around Kilmington’

Start: Kilmington Village Hall car park (OS 116. SY 273 981) ‘click here for map’

If car park is full, park on Shute Road (SY 267 983). 7 miles - 4 hours plus lunch.

The morning walk is a circular 3.5 miles passing through woods and Shute Barton, mainly on forest tracks and quiet rural roads, short section through farmland.  Good underfoot but muddy in a few places.  Bring a packed lunch to eat at Kilmington Green (some seating).

In the afternoon the walk is over the Yarty and Axe floodplains, interesting wildlife and river meanders. Very flat 3.5 miles which can easily be shortened.  Good underfoot but maybe muddy in places if recent rain.  Takes under 4 hours plus lunch.
