OVA Otter Valley Association OVA Volunteers
Volunteer to help the Otter Valley Association Causes

Volunteers are always welcome to help the Otter Valley Association achieve it's aims in maintaining this area of Devon. If you are able to offer your services then please get in touch with the relevant contact below.

The Executive Committee is supported by the three following Sub-Committees, whose work is described below along with the contact in each area.

Built Environment

The Built Environment Sub-Committee, half of whose members are qualified architects, consider every application for planning permission within the area, and where necessary, submit objections or constructive criticisms to the Local Planning Authority. Proposals for development in Conservation Areas, and for work to Listed Buildings, are given particular attention to judge whether the proposed work would be out-of-keeping or otherwise detrimental.

The Sub-Committee also examines and comments upon any proposed revisions to Structure and Local Plans, and to any other policy documents of broader scope which have implications for the area.
